I used to use PAM and other non-stick kitchen oil sprays, but I started to worry about the long-term effects of all the additives they include.
Especially the Palm Oil worried me. It’s bad for your health, very bad for the workers who produce it, and bad for the environment. So I wanted to find a way to spray pure oil without extra ingredients.
After a bunch of research (and buying a few products that ultimately didn’t work) I found these oil sprayers. Their #1 positive attribute is that they don’t leak and they don’t clog!
Press the spray lever and you get a mist of oil. Click open the top and you get a drip-proof way to pour the oil. You never have to unscrew the top unless you’re refilling it. So smart!
Additionally, the container is glass so there is less of a worry about plastic leaching into the oil. And the whole thing can go in the dishwasher.
They come in different colors so I got a green one for olive oil and a white one for canola oil. Between those two I’m pretty well covered.
My recipe for Low-Calorie Chicken Chimichangas (yum!) uses my olive oil sprayer. I use them just about every time I cook, and they’ve held up well.
Oh, and they’re less than $9 each, so… Five stars!!
