I’ve seen this graphic a lot while researching gastric sleeve surgery, and every time I’m surprised by the number of benefits of weight loss. (Personally I’m hoping for reduction in depression, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol.) And this graphic doesn’t even go into benefits like a lower risk of all cancers.

I’m so grateful that I get to have gastric sleeve surgery. My insurance doesn’t cover it, but we were able to take out a personal loan to finance the surgery. I feel fortunate that we were able to get this loan and afford the monthly payments.
My surgery is in just a few days, and I am starting to be less scared and more excited. I hope this trend continues!
Were you surprised by any of the conditions in the first picture? What do you hope subsides for you after your surgery? If you’re just thinking about surgery, does this post sway you one way or another?
