Hard-boiled eggs are the unsung heroes of weight loss. They’re not only a super convenient snack, but they also pack a punch in the health department. First off, they’re rich in protein, which helps keep you feeling full and satisfied, so you’re less likely to snack on calorie-loaded treats. Plus, they’re low in calories themselves, which is a win-win.
And let’s not forget they’re an excellent source of important nutrients like vitamins and minerals. So, if you’re looking to shed a few pounds, keep some hard-boiled eggs handy – they might just become your new go-to snack.
Between using them for my low-calorie egg salad recipe and just plain snacking, we go through a lot of hard-boiled eggs. For this reason, I did a lot of research on how to make the best hard-boiled eggs. Boiling, steaming, baking, pressure cooking… you name it. And I’ve hit on the very best AND easiest way to do it: Perfect hard-boiled eggs in the Instant Pot!
(Don’t have an Instant Pot? Here’s why you should get one to help with your weight loss or maintenance.)
Hard-boiled Eggs in the Instant Pot
Ingredients
- 12 raw eggs ((I can fit at least 18 into a 6-quart Instant Pot, but you can also make fewer.))
- 1 cup water
Equipment
Instructions
- Put the trivet in the Instant Pot and add the water. Carefully add the eggs.
- Set the pot to LOW pressure for 6 minutes.
- Quick release the pot, and put eggs in an ice bath in a large bowl for 15 minutes. Peel the eggs and store in refrigerator.
